What do we stand for?

Figuring out what you stand for isn't as easy as it sounds. Just as you can't be all things to all people, a company can't stand for all things or it stands for nothing.   In the end, distilling your corporate values is about asking what you stand for most.  You have to make choices.

Here's what we believe in:

Healthy Work & Life Balance

Work is an important part of life, but it shouldn't dominate everything else.  Our goal is to build a GREAT company while living healthy and balanced lives.  At the end of the day, it's best to turn off the computer and be with the people who make you smile.

Should we be living to work or working to live?

The most successful companies are constantly reinventing themselves as their competitive environment changes around them.

Rather than assuming we can predict the future, we handle the fast pace of change in the online world by embracing change and encouraging innovation.  We do this through experimention; testing ideas quickly and cheaply, nurturing what works and learning from those that don't.  If you're reading these words... it's still working!

Trust is difficult to define, but everyone knows it when they see it. It's built up a little at a time, hard to accumulate and easy to lose.

Low-trust work environments waste a lot of energy, time and money monitoring people, to say nothing of the hidden costs of lowered morale and higher turnover.  High-trust companies can spend that extra energy, time and money on serving their customers better or improving their products, providing a competitive advantage.

We choose high-trust.

Lastly, Profits

"Profits are like breathing, you have to have them.   But who would stay alive just to breathe?" - Maurice Mascaranhas

Profits aren't about getting rich, they're about independence. If you bootstrap your own growth, you don't have to explain yourself for loans or worry that venture capitalists are going to step in and take control.  Profits are breathing room.
